(Note: This welcome page, like our Wiki itself, is new, and very much under development. Feel free to change it yourself! And improvements to/suggestions for the logo are also welcomed. Or, if you don't feel comfortable making changes directly, click on the "discussion" tab above and make some suggestions. Any suggestion whatsoever can also be made at our Suggestion Box.)
Welcome to the English language version of the CR Society's Longevity Wiki!! We are now ready to start developing our wiki! So have at it!
Note, if you want to get your hands dirty with technical matters to help get our wiki going, and don't yet know a lot about how the software works, please take a look at the Web pages listed in the Appendix, below. There is a lot of material at those links, but, if you are indeed interested in getting involved with the technical side of things, it might be worth learning about the software, since so many other wikis also use it. The User's Guide might be the best place to start if you're not familiar with wikis.
However, if your goal is simply to help add content, you can probably start now! Simple instructions for adding content will be added as soon as possible, but in the meantime, just click on, say, "recent changes" on the left, take a look at the few pages that already exist, click on "edit," and voilà, you're an editor of the CR Society Longevity Wiki! You can also search for a topic you're interested in editing. If it doesn't exist, you will get a message, with a hyperlink, saying you can "create the page" (i.e., create the entry for the topic for which you searched). Try it! In addition, if you see a red link below, that means that the page for that topic doesn't exist yet. You can click on the link, and start to create a page. It's fine just to write a short sentence and leave it to someone else to flesh it out.
"I don't see what I'm looking for in the Table of Contents. Help!" Type what you're looking for in the search box to the left, then click on "Search". If you get no results, try typing just one keyword.

Caveat
Wikis are group projects that can at times be difficult to control. The CR Society International welcomes the participation of anyone who thinks he or she has something to contribute! However, given that medical research, especially gerontological research, is in a state of flux, a collaborative, "all are invited" writing project dealing with longevity is likely to contain, at least at times, information with which many in the CR Society do not agree. Although members of the Society will be monitoring the wiki regularly, the Society's disclaimer applies to the wiki as much as it does to everything else on our Web site. Please take a moment to read it:
