Guidelines
From CRSWiki
To maintain consistency and usability, all contributions to this wiki should adhere as much as possible to the following guidelines:
- Assertions of fact should be referenced to traceable sources using this wiki's standard citation format.
- Untested theories should be clearly tagged (e.g., by typing {{conjecture}} at the end of the claim, which produces, that is, "gets translated" in the text actually seen by viewers as, [conjecture]). See the Quickstart guide to learn how.
- Case studies should be analyzed at arms length and in the context of this larger work, and should not appear simply as a personal story or blog.
- Because the intended audience varies in technical knowledge, each topic should begin with introductory material, but considering that this field is intrinsically highly technical, each topic should ultimately progress to the maximum extent of present knowledge wherever possible. Due to the hierarchical structure of this wiki, nested modules inherit introductory content from their parents, which content can be assumed to have been read, thus allowing for more focused introductions, and preventing redundancy.
- Link unusual terminology to appropriate pages of this wiki if they exist, or to extra-CRS Longevity Wiki pages, as appropriate. (Search Google for an appropriate page. Some people prefer Wikipedia or Wiktionary, others, such as CR Society President, Brian M. Delaney, strongly believe Wikipedia and Wiktionary are "disasters for human knowledge," and should not be used or supported in any way.) If the unusual terminology has to do with CR or life-extension consider, either briefly define such terminology in situ, or else consider starting the appropriate page yourself. (Even if all you do is put up a few words, and wait for someone else to flesh it out.)
- Contributions to this wiki should always bear directly and only on the scope of the wiki. Content of general encyclopedic nature should be placed elsewhere , for example on a different wiki, such as Wikinfo or Wikipedia. (Controversial: conversely, content on Wikinfo or Wikipedia relating specifically to CR should be moved to this wikibook, and replaced with a link to here.)
- Comments regarding the presentation clarity and style of the data are encouraged – but only in the talk section of the appropriate page!
- Debatable or contentious assertions should be presented with the formal proposition as header, and "for" and "against" content divided into separate sections in bullet points. This is to make the section easy to read and to prevent the area from becoming a sequential debate/dialog. See this example. Explicit debate of a more conversational nature should go into the talk page of a given module.
[this page is a crude adaption of one originally written for a longevity wikibook. please further adapt it to this wiki.]
