To do (or think about possibly doing)
Changing wiki.calorierestriction.org to a normal Web page
This should probably just be an "entryway" into the other wikis. The "navigation" and "toolbox" boxes on the left should be removed, seems to me. Can we turn it into a normal Web page?
But we do need a place for language-independent policy discussions. meta.wiki.calorierestriction.org? --Brian talk 2006-08-20 06:48 (EDT)
Install the bit of code to make "ref/reference" tags work =
See http://en.wiki.calorierestriction.org/index.php/Citing_sources
"Tags"
On Wikipedia, there are various "tags" (little markers that are placed into articles by typing two curly brackets around a tag, like so: {{fact}}. That tag would then place a little note in the article that would look something like "citation needed." Should we create/establish a few? --Brian talk 2006-06-30 21:32Z
Thanks to Joe, I've now very quickly learned how to create these. We should (at some point) put up a list of them somewhere. --Brian talk 2006-07-02 13:19 (UTC)
See CRSWiki:Templates for the beginnings of a list of templates. But I assume there's a way to have them all listed automatically? --Brian talk 2006-07-25 13:31 (UTC)
Time Stamps, Time Zone, etc.
Can we set our installation of Wikimedia so that times stamps come as in my sig file. This is the ISO 8601 standard. And perhaps the time zone should be different from CDT? The time zone is probably just a variable somewhere that can be tweaked. About the time zone, I don't really care what it is, but CDT seems not quite right. --Brian talk 2006-06-30 21:37Z P.S. Actually, "21:37 (UTC)" might be better than "21:37Z"?
Just spent a while digging around... Seems like this is how to change the time zone. But I still haven't figured out how to make the sig command (~~~~) result in a YYYYMMDD HH:MM formatted timestamp. It may be that British imperialism is built into the software. --Brian talk 2006-07-25 14:00 (UTC)
"Server Time" (for ex. in user preferences) is still UTC, though!! --Brian talk 2006-08-20 07:13 (EDT)
Password-Protected Sections for Use by the Board?
Is it possible to limit access to parts of our wiki? This would be extremely helpful for Board use. --Brian talk 2006-07-24 13:51 (UTC)
Sidebar "locked"?
Why isn't my change to the sidebar --
http://en.wiki.calorierestriction.org/index.php/MediaWiki:Sidebar
-- showing up? Oddly, it does show up on the Sidebar page itself (at the above link). But nowhere else. --Brian talk 2006-09-09 05:56 (EDT) No, it just took some time to show up (though I had done a hard reload...). --Brian talk 2006-09-09 06:49 (EDT)

Foreign Language CR Longevity Wikis
It would be good to have foreign language versions of our wiki. As Karsten pointed out, this requires separate installs of the Wikimedia software, and a way to link the different installs to one another. Even though the vast majority of contributions will be made to the English language wiki, at least for the foreseeable future, it might be worthwhile to make this wiki enwiki.calorierestriction.org, or en.wiki.calorierestriction.org, so that we don't insult others. Then we'd also have a nice parallel name space. (On other wikis, many get extremely insulted/upset by any appearance of "American imperialism.") --Brian talk 2006-07-10 10:39 (UTC)
