Apple crumble

Originally developed by Robert Cavanaugh. Tastes best when served warm.

Ingredients

Makes 6 servings.

  • 6 apples, medium
  • ½ cup applesauce, unsweetened
  • ¾ cup oats, rolled or oatmeal
  • 1 oz dry measure wheat germ
  • 1 tsp cinnamon, ground
  • 3 Tbsp Splenda
  • 1 Tbsp oil, vegetable (your choice)
  • 1 Tbsp molasses, blackstrap

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Core and thinly slice apples, leaving skin on.
  3. Mix applesauce and apple slices until evenly coated.
  4. Place apple mixture in a 12"-by-8" baking dish.
  5. Mix dry ingredients in bowl until Splenda is evenly distributed.
  6. Drizzle in oil and molasses and mix until evenly absorbed.
  7. Sprinkle mixture over apples.
  8. Bake 30 minutes in 350°F oven.
  9. Cut into 8 sections, and serve warm.
